iPad 2 Tip #1 – Turn your iPad 2 into a digital photo frame when not in use

The iPad comes with a built-in functionality of showing a slide show pictures when it is in the autolock state after a period of inactivity. You can set-up after how much period of inactivity should the iPad go to the autolock state by going to Settings ->  General -> Autolock. In the AutoLock menu, you can specify after how many minutes the iPad should go into autolock mode. The options are 2, 5, 10, 15 Minutes, and Never.

You can change the picture frame settings by going to Settings -> Picture Frame. You can select the transition as Dissolve or Origami. The Origami transition lets you display more than one image on the screen. The time period for which you want to show each photo can be selected between 2, 3, 5, 10, and 20 seconds. You can also turn on the setting to Zoom in on Faces and Shuffle photos. You can select the album that you want to show in the Picture Frame or you can show all pictures.

To start the slide show in your iPad, you have to tap on the Picture Frame icon which is on the bottom of the iPad on the right hand side, next to scrollbar to unlock the iPad.
