 Adobe's Create PDF
Adobe has released an application called “Adobe CreatePDF” which enables creation of PDF files on iPad and iPhone. Adobe claims that the application has high fidelity PDF conversion independent of device or software as it uses Adobe’s online services. The application preserves links, end notes, foot notes, and creates bookmarks automatically in PDF files converted from Office documents. It preserves transitions and converts multi-media content for Power Point files. It converts e-mail attachments or files stored in the cloud or any application by opening them within the Adobe CreatePDF application.  iHurricane HD application for tracking hurricanes
iHurricane HD is a free application for the iPhone and the iPad that lets you tracks hurricanes, including Irene. The application can track multiple storms over an interactive map. You can see the path of the storm overlaid on a Satellite, Street, or a hybrid map. It has clickable icons along the hurricane path on places where weather advisory has been issued. You can click on any of the icon to see your distance from the point on the map where the icon is. The application also gives the longitude, latitude, wind speed, pressure, and the expected time when the hurricane is supposed to reach the place represented by the icon.  Steven P. Jobs
Steve Jobs has resigned from his role as the CEO of Apple. He will now instead be the Chairman of the board at the company. Although he has not given any reason for his resignation, it is believed that serious health issues have led to his resignation. He was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor in 2004, had a liver transplant in 2009 and has had health troubles since then.  PayPal Check Capture
PayPal has added a new feature in its iPhone application which allows users to deposit checks. The Mobile check capture feature was added in the version 2.7 of Paypal’s iPhone application. It appears as “Add Money From Checks” option in the Tools section of the application. Using this option, users can take a photo of the front and back of the check after agreeing to the terms and conditions, and electronically deposit the funds into their PayPal account. Consumer Reports, the popular publication which reviews and rates consumer products has said that it would not be recommending consumers to purchase iPhone 4. Apple has announced that it will be ending its scheme of giving a free case to consumers purchasing the iPhone 4 that resolved the antennae reception issue on September 30, 2010. Consumers had complained that touching the external antennae embedded in the steel band that encircles the case in iPhone 4 led to loss of signal and dropped calls. After this issue was highlighted by several media publications, Apple announced that it will be giving a free case to the consumers buying the iPhone 4 that mitigates the issue. After the launch of iPhone 4 in June, there were immediate consumer complaints that touching the external antennae embedded in the steel band that encircles the case led to loss of signal and dropped calls.  BT Fon application for iPhone and Andorid
British Telecom has announced a new BT FON application for iPhone and Android smartphones in the U.K. The application will automatically connect customers to its network of 1.6 million Wi-Fi hotspots. It will give BT Total Broadband customers free and unlimited Wi-Fi access, and comes with a weekly updated map of hotspots to help customers find their nearest hotspot. Once BT customers have downloaded the app, they can input their BT Internet email username and password, and choose to be automatically logged in whenever they are in a BT Wi-Fi area.
