Apple is Planning to Bundle Beats Music Streaming in iOS

BeatsApple is planning to bundle the Beats music streaming service in iOS. As reported by Financial Times, the service will be included when Apple releases the next iOS update early next year for iPhone and iPad devices. Apple purchased Beats, which is famous for its headphones, earlier this year in May for $3 billion. Beats music streaming app is currently available to download from Apple’s app store and comes with a 14-day free trial period. After the trial period, you can pay $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year to subscribe. Apple is planning to challenge Spotify, which is the most popular app in the music-streaming category, and give the Beats app exposure to more users by bundling it with the operating system. Apple Releases iOS 8.1.1 Update for iPhone and iPad Devices

iOS811Apple has released a new iOS 8.1.1 update for iPhone and iPad devices. This update has a number of bugs and security fixes. It also promises to speed up iPad 2 and iPhone 4S devices. Two months back, when iOS 8.0.1 update was released, it had caused a number of issues with network connectivity and Touch ID recognition. Apple estimated that these issues affected about 40,000 devices. So far, no issues have been reported with iOS 8.1.1 update. iPhone 6 is Outselling iPhone 6 Plus by 3 to 1

iPhone6and6PlusWhich is more popular 4.7-inch iPhone 6 or 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus? According to the research by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), iPhone 6 seems to be the more popular one and it is outselling iPhone 6 Plus by three times. CIRP data was collected in the first 30 days in September, when the new iPhone models went on sale. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 accounted for 68% of iPhone sales and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus accounted for 23% of the sales. Consumers are also opting for iPhones with more storage. The average amount of storage that consumers are choosing on their iPhones has doubled to 48GB Year over Year.

US-Cert Warns About Apple iOS “Masque Attack” Hacking

US-CertThe United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team is warning about a technique called “Masque Attack,” which allows hackers to substitute a legitimate iOS app with malware. This attack works by luring users to download an app from a source other than the Apple app store, or the user’s company’s work provisioning system. There is a security vulnerability in iOS, which allows an app with the same “bundle identifier” as that of a genuine app, to replace the genuine app on the affected device, while keeping all of its data. Apple’s own apps such as Safari, iBooks etc., are not vulnerable to the attack.  Read more

Apple Releases the Deregister iMessage Tool for iPhone Switchers

Twitter Introduces a Mute Feature

Twitter Mute FeatureTwitter has announced a new “Mute” feature through which, you will be able to hide the tweets from and retweets from selected users so that they do not appear on your Twitter homepage timeline. You will also not receive any push or SMS notifications from these users. This feature is available on Twitter app for iOS and Android, and on Web site. Google Offers Offline Maps with the Maps app Update

Offline maps feature in Google Maps AppGoogle has added a number of new features in its update of the Maps application for iOS and Android devices. While giving directions, the app will now show you which lane you should stay in or move to for taking the turn or exit. It will provide alternate routes while you are navigating, so you can select the best route. You will be able to save Google maps for using them offline. Search an area in Google Maps and tap on its place info sheet. There is an option “Save map to use offline” which will enable you to save the map for using it offline. Apple Expected to launch iPhones with Bigger Screens this Year

Rumor mill is hot that Apple will be launching iPhones with bigger screens this year. Apple’s current iPhone 5 series screens measure 4 inch diagonally. Several publications including Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg have reported that screens of the new iPhone models that Apple is planning to launch will measure 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch diagonally. According to the rumors, Apple will launch iPhone 6 with a 4.7 inch diagonal screen in September this year. A bigger iPhone model with 5.5 inch diagonal screen will launch either at the end of this year or early next year. The new iPhone models may also feature screens made of Sapphire crystals instead of the Corning gorilla glass that Apple currently uses. The processor in the new models is also be likely upgraded from A7 to A8 which will feature both a quad-core 64 bit processor and quad-core graphics.
