Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 and Apps that can Track Flights

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370The fate of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 is still shrouded in mystery. What happened to the flight after transponder stopped sending signals and which exact flight path it took remains unknown. There are a number of applications for iPhone and Android smartphones that can track flights in real-time and show it to you on a live map. These won’t of course track the flight any longer if something as unprecedented happens, as in the case of Malaysian airlines flight MH370 that the transponder stops sending signals. Some of the apps that can track flights in real-time are:

1.FlightAware: A free application for iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphones that can provide you the real-time flight status, and a tracking map of any commercial flight worldwide and private and charter flights in the United States and Canada. It will also provide arrival, departure gate/terminal information and changes, delays, cancellations, and information about flight connections and status. A feature in the app also allows you to see information about aircrafts flying near to your location.

Get a Taxi, the Uber Way

The taxi cab industry is getting disrupted by smartphone applications which are changing the way how you call a taxi, get a ride, and pay for it. Gone are the days when you had to whistle, waive, make a call and wait for half an hour for taxi to come, and then worry, whether the taxi driver accepts a credit card or not. There are smartphone applications which can get a ride for you in a tap. Three of the most popular ones are Uber, Lyft, and Side car. Uber provides you multiple options to select a car. You can select from a taxi, a limousine, an SUV, or a car owned and driven by someone who wants to earn some extra cash. Uber launched its Uberx service to compete with Lyft and Side car which provide rides at prices lower than that of a taxi, using cars driven by people who are not taxi or limousine drivers, but drive their car in spare time to make extra income. Use your Old iPhone Accessories with the New iPhone 5

Lighting to 30-pin Adapter

The new iPhone 5 has a smaller dock adapter, called Lighting, than the 30-pin adapter on iPhone 4S. Lighting is an all-digital, eight signal design adapter, which is reversible, so you can plug it from either side.  However, if you have old accessories, you will not be able to plug them into the new iPhone 5. To resolve this issue, Apple is selling an adapter for $39 which coverts Lighting into a 30-pin adapter, so you can use any old iPhone accessory with the new iPhone 5. The Lighting to 30-pin adapter can be pre-ordered from Apple Online store, and it will start shipping in October.

This model of iPhone is thinnest and lightest among all the iPhone models and is entirely made of glass and aluminum.
