Blackberry has announced a new model of its Playbook tablet which supports Sprint’s 4G Wide Area Wireless connectivity and will be available through Sprint in summer. Its 4G wireless network can provide customers a download speed 10 times faster than a 3G network – the company claims. Blackberry’s Playbook is a tablet device like an iPad with a 7” LCD, 1024 x 600, WSVGA screen that supports multi-touch and gesture support. The tablet has a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, dual HD cameras, 3 MP front-facing for video chats and 5 MP rear-facing for recording 1080p HD videos. The device has HDMI video output, built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It will have up to 64 GB of internal storage and will be available in 16, 32, and 64 GB versions. It will support HTML 5 and Adobe Flash Player 10.1. The tablet measures 5.1”x7.6”x0.4” and weighs less than a pound, 0.9lb approximately.
