The number of twitter users using it on their mobile phones has seen a meteoric rise by 62% since mid-April this year. The number of new users starting on Twitter on mobile has increased to 16% compared to 5% before. The business managers at Twitter have been following a strategy to increase its use on mobile. Earlier there were a lot of third party applications for using Twitter on iPhone, but there was no application specifically from Twitter. The Twitter management decided to acquire an iPhone application called Tweetie and turned it into the official Twitter application for iPhone, with a new sign-up interface. Google Launches a Revamped Mobile Finance Web site

Google has launched a revamped mobile Web site for Finance. The mobile Web site now offers the same features and functionality which are available on the desktop version of Google Finance. You can access the mobile Web site when you do a search for stock ticker or company names on your mobile device, or when you tap the “Finance” tab on the Google mobile home page. RIM is Looking to Bring Mobile Ads on Blackberry

According to a report in Wall Street Journal, Research in Motion, the company that makes Blackberry devices is looking to bring mobile ads on Blackberry devices by buying a mobile ad network. Two of its major competitors Apple and Google have acquired mobile ad networks. Google bought the AdMob ad network for $750 million while Apple bought Quattro for $275 million.
