Motorola Announces Droid Bionic

Motorola has announced a new smartphone – the Droid Bionic, which is available through Verizon Wireless. It supports 4G mobile broadband with download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps. It will run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network wherever the coverage is available. This smartphone has dual-core 1GHz processors, 1 GB of RAM, 4.3 inch qHD display, and it is powered by Android™ 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system. It has an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with flash and 1080p HD video capture on the back and a front-facing camera for video chat over 4G LTE, 3G or Wi-Fi. Sony Announces Xperia Arc S with 3D Panorama Pictures

Sony Xperia Arc S Smartphone

Sony has announced a new smartphone, the Arc S which can take 3D Panaroma pictures. It is built on the Android 2.3 platform. This smartphone has a 4.2 inch screen, 1.4 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB internal storage, and a micro SD card slot which can take up to 32GB capacity cards. It has 8.1 Megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, video light, and HD (720p) video recording. The unique feature of this camera is that it can take 3D Panorama pictures which can then be viewed on 3D TV with multi-angle 3D display.

Google Buys Motorola Mobility

Google is buying Motorola Mobility for 12.5 billion dollar, at $40 per share, which is at a 60% premium of Motorola’s share’s closing price on Friday, August 12. The deal has been approved by the board of directors of both the companies, but will have to get regulatory approval in the U.S. and European Union to go through. Google plans to operate Motorola Mobility as a separate business – a licensee of Android while Android will remain an open platform. Motorola has announced a new version of its Android based Droid smartphone – the Bionic, which will launch on Verizon wireless. This smartphone has a dual-core processor with each core running at 1GHz providing a total of 2 GHz processing power and 512 MB RAM. The device has a front-facing VGA camera and a rear facing 8 Megapixel cameras which can record videos and take pictures. It has a 4.3 inch qHD screen and also comes with HDMI connectivity which enables consumers to connect the device to their HD televisions. It has a 4G mirror mode function that enables simultaneous streaming of video to the TV and on the device. The smartphone comes equipped with corporate email, remote wipe and data security and encryption capabilities IT departments appreciate. It also features productivity tools such as Quickoffice for document review and editing, full calendar management, one-click access to conference calling, and a full suite of Google applications and services. Motorola has unveiled a new Android operating system based smartphone– the Atrix 4G in the currently running CES exhibition in Las Vegas. The unique feature of this smartphone is that it can let you surf the net, edit documents and photos, make phone calls on a bigger laptop like screen with a full touch-type keyboard and mouse pad using an additional accessory – the laptop dock, which this smartphone can connect to. The laptop dock has an 11.6-inch screen, full keyboard, stereo speakers, 36Wh three-cell battery that delivers up to eight hours of battery life and weighs 2.4 pounds. The Atrix 4G smartphone docks into the back of the laptop dock to give users a laptop like experience and functionality – which is entirely powered by the smartphone. Xoom runs on Google’s Android 3.0 Honey comb operating system, which is designed from the ground up for tablets. This tablet has a 10.1 inch widescreen HD display and a dual core processor with each core running at 1GHz, delivering up to 2 GHz of processing power. It supports 1080p HD video and it has HDMI output to display content on larger HD screens. It has a front facing 2 Megapixel camera for video chats and a rear facing 5 Mega pixel camera that can capture video in 720p HD. This phone has an environment friendly vibe as the casing on this phone is constructed from recycled materials.  The housing is made from 25 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, is PVC and BFR free and packaged in an eco-friendly box.
